We are still in the days of winter here in Indiana. We did manage to go to school 2 full days this week. We are about to break a record snowfall for this area. They say more snow coming in tonight. To be honest we just don't listen to the weather report these days. It is alot of work keeping the driveway shoveled out and just when you think you've conquered it...you wake up and there it is again....covered in snow! We are tired of snow!
Josh is playing basketball through our YMCA. His team is undefeated which sure puts on the pressure. Sometimes it is just easier to lose and get it out of the way.
Josh also plays baseball with the Fort Wayne Cubs. This is a new experience and they workout all through the off season. We figured since we are life long Chicago Cubs fans this would be a great team to support.
Jeff was gone for the weekend on a church retreat so our friends Bruce and Julie Graham joined us for lunch after church. We love having church friends as neighbors! These guys are great!
We celebrated Valentine's Day a little. We tell our kids we love them everyday so we try not to make a huge deal out of Valentine's Day. We want to stress that Jesus loves everyone all the time, not just those that have sweethearts on Valentine's Day. With that being said we do want them to feel loved and we know they have friends gettting candy and big red hearts so we did some of the usual hoopla. We also stressed that we want to show love to our grandmas and grandpa all year long and we sure don't want to forget them on Valentine's Day!
We have gotten to see Nolan alot lately and we love that! Josh & Cate are very attached to Nolan and vice versa. Us grandparents love having him visit often too!
Sometimes we just have normal times at our house. Recently my friend who has adopted 2 children from Haiti told me she never uses the word "normal" these days to refer to her family! Josh and Cate have settled down alot lately and we do seem to be turning into a normal family. We love these 2 kiddos and praise the Lord for bringing them into this household.
Now this picture below does not look so normal but these 2 got into some play clothes/wigs in the basement and this is what they came up with. Pretty funny! I can just hear them saying "Ooh la la".
Thanks for reading the blog and praying for us. We so appreciate knowing you are out there! Have a great week in Jesus! Blessings to you!
Choosing joy,
Chris
