School's Out! Summer's In!

School ended in May and the last day is always dress up day for awards.  Josh and Cate both wore their finest and sure looked great.  Where did the year go?

Summer always involves lake time for us.  We love Lake James!  It's even more fun with friends and family.

Of course for us summer brings intense fishing and baseball like every night. Firepits with s'mores are fun too! .  These 3 things could happen anytime and often overlap!  Where can you find Josh before and after a game?  Fishing of course.  Cate is a fan of s'mores but fishing and baseball, not so fun for her.

We have visited the "grands" as much as possible.  Always fun to see our big boys with their little boys!  We love those wives too!

Cate got new glasses and braces are this coming week.  Big stuff happening for this girl.  After the glasses appointment we had lunch with Grandma Joan.

And Grandma Carol is always close by.  She shows up at ballgames and anytime we need her.  We are blessed with 2 fun grandmas! (And Grandpa)  Is Cate growing?  I think so!

We've been working on kitchen skills this summer.  My goals are cooking and laundry for the kids to learn this summer and they are actually doing a great job.  They switch off on who does laundry this week and they are both great at helping in the kitchen.

Yard work is always something we do together as a family and these guys are great at pitching in with this.  Cate will get every single weed out if it takes her all day and Josh is always ready for a power tool or shovel in his hand.  If he can swing it, dig it, or chop it, he really likes it!

The last time we arrived at the lake there was a dead critter on the rocks.  Poor Rocky Raccoon bit the dust right there on our rocks.  Well it was disgusting and I didn't want to get him out.  Jeff didn't seem too thrilled either.  So we said, "No one goes tubing until this dead raccoon is out of here!"  About 3 min later we were in the boat headed out.  A dead raccoon is no problem for these guys!

I pray you are blessed with the best summer ever.
Jeremiah 29:11  "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Thanks for reading the blog and praying for us.
