Summer time fun!

Wow!  I cannot believe summer is over.  I have not blogged since Spring Break so about 4-5 months ago.  What can I say?  Our life has been hectic.  Josh made the Homestead baseball team and that was a fun season for him.  Great way for him to finish up his freshman year.  Cate did Woodside Middle School track.  She was a thrower for shot put and discus plus ran in the 4X100 relay.  Both kids had a great spring season in school and sports. We ended school and jumped right into a full baseball travel season for Josh and summer school PE for Cate.

We have been blessed to spend time with our married sons and wanted to post pictures here to show how their families are growing and how beautiful they are.  We are so blessed by these boys.

We celebrated Father's Day with a weiner roast/ s'mores fire pit.  It was good to just relax and realize how blessed we are to have this awesome man, Jeff Clark, as the earthly father and leader of out family.

Happy Father's Day Daddy Jeffrey and Go Cubs!

During the summer we have had so much fun at the lake, I can't begin to express to you the joys of having our children come to the lake for a week.  This is how we spent the week over the 4th of July and it was a blast.  Married children and grandchildren and great grandma together in one spot is such a joy!  We love family time!

We went to the Allen County 4-H Fair.  After we arrived we realized these kiddos had never been to a county fair.  Both Jeff and I grew up going to these but it was all new and strange to Josh and Cate.

We also spent a day at Pine Lake which is a small water park with ropes and slides. Josh had some baseball players with him so Cate just tagged along and did great.

Josh had a summer job as a bat boy for our local minor league baseball team, The Fort Wayne Tin Caps.  Josh did great with this job and seemed to enjoy it.  He couldn't believe they paid him to watch baseball.
At his last game they let him choose a wooden bat from their collection.  He was thrilled.  The perfect summer job for him.

It was time to start thinking about going back to school. Cate is a freshman and Josh is a sophmore at Homestead High School in Southwest Allen County Schools.  Josh is on the XC team and Cate is on the volleyball team.  We are really thrilled at how these guys use their athletic abilities.

Josh and Cate have come so far.  A wise person told us "always look at how far you've come and not at how far you have to go."  Wow have Josh and Cate come along ways!  They are doing great.  Yes we still have daily struggles.  Yes Cate says at least once a day "In my country ..." which tells me she thinks about her country daily.  Josh daily says "I'm tired." which tells me he is mentally tired of trying to think about fitting in at school.  But just think how far they have come.  They are going to make it but only with Jesus leading the way.  I am excited to see how God is going to use these guys.

I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord...to prosper you and not to harm you,
to give you hope and a future!  Jeremiah 29:11

Thanks for reading the blog and praying for us.  We covet your prayers.
Choosing joy,
Chris & crew
