Cubs Win! Cubs Win! and,,,,,Thanksgiving 2016

The Chicago Cubs baseball team has been the Clark family favorite for many generations.  When our older kids were babies Grandpa was buying them Cubs' shirts and hats.  Every year there was at least one trip to Wrigley Field to watch our beloved Cubs.  I married into this fandom and I remember when my husband got his special pin announcing he was a "Die Hard Cubs" fan.  I thought what in the world is this?  But after just a few years of marriage I grew to love them too and their tradition became my tradition.  We love our Cubbies.  Well "next year" is finally here for the Chicago Cubs.  They won the 2016 World Series and we couldn't be more excited.  We woke Josh up at 1am in the 10th inning when Rizzo caught the final out and the Cubs beat the Cleveland Indians to win their first World Series since 1908.  We loved it  Here's a few of our favorite Cub's fans in their gear.

So many things to be thankful for.  God, Jesus, Family and Friends are a few for starters.  We had a fun and long Thanksgiving weekend.  Josh's friend, Michael Oestriech, flew up from Florida to spend 6 days with Josh.  Michael, Josh, and Cate all started their lives in King's Garden Children's Home in the Philippines.  Josh and Michael were best friends.  Josh was adopted to our family in Indiana in 2011.  Michael was adopted to a family in Florida in 2012.  These boys have been able to stay connected and we manage to get them together at least once a year and sometimes twice.  It is a wonderful bond for Josh and Michael.  Cate is pretty perturbed since her best friends were adopted to Tasmania and Spain.  It's not quite as easy to visit them.  Josh and Michael are like 2 peas in a pod.  They complete each other's sentences.  They know what the other one is thinking.  They are connected.

Our Thanksgiving dinner was a group of 19 family and friends. Four of this group were age 2 and under.  It made for a busy and fun day.

Now we are gearing up for Christmas, the birth of our savior!  It is the best holiday ever!  I pray you know Jesus and are counting on Him.  He made you for a purpose, for his pleasure!  He loves you.

Give thanks to God in heaven because His love endures forever!  Psalm 136:26

Thanks for reading the blog and praying for us.
