This past week Josh's 5th grade put on their school play, "Beauty and the Beast". Josh was part of the set crew and ran the spotlight. He loved his job and was super good at it if I say so myself. I was very proud of him and his dedication. The trouble with the pictures is that he had to wear all black and since his hair is pretty dark plus the rest of him you couldn't really even see him doing his job. I guess that was the whole idea. He told me he definitely had to wear black socks too! Like I said he was very serious about his job.
The above pictures were all during the bow after the play. Josh was very nervous about walking onto the stage to bow. He's not too thrilled with being front and center. Stage crew was just fine with him!
This was afterwards when Josh had already taken off his black clothing. He was very proud of the big spotlight!
Our very loyal fans, Grandma Carol and Grandpa Bob were front and center enjoying the show! We appreciate them coming out to support Josh!
There's always time for ice cream. The kids love the local Yo Yo's where they can pile on the toppings.
Summer haircuts had to happen even though Josh is determined to let his grow long. Mom says off with it!
Double header little league game for Josh on Saturday. Lots of his favorite fans came out to watch and the weather finally cooperated with some sunshine. Josh sure looks good on the field but we are still waiting on his big hit! It'll come!
The next big springtime event was mowing the yard or "motoring" the yard as Josh calls it. He has been asking and asking to do it and I thought why not? Let's teach the kid to do it so we did! He listened great and it was a success. I see more yard motoring for him and less for me in the future!
After church on Sunday we went out to one of our favorite Chinese places. The kids sure love crab rangoon. It is good and one of my favorites too. I guess they get that love from their momma! Ha! I think they were born with it but I'll take the credit!
That's it for now. Watch next time for more summer fun as we are to see temps in the 70's and plan to be outside enjoying it. Sometimes we have challenges (imagine that) and things are hard, but we can do hard! That's our motto! Plus you know that life is about choices and we are....
Choosing joy,
Chris
