December into January 2013

I am way behind on the blog updates but think we might have our uploading pictures issue fixed thanks to my software man....Daddy Jeffrey!

Well where do we begin with all the fun over Christmas.  Since I have lots of pictures I am just going to start posting them so enjoy!

Fun outing to the mall to chat with Santa.  Josh & Cate don't know what to make of this Santa thing.  We want to keep the focus on Christ at Christmas time (and always) but we did explain that Santa is sort of a fun magical pretend part of gifts and they could talk to him if they wanted.  They both seemed shy but went for it!

We did some bed changes at our house.  Cate is now sleeping in an antique bed given to us by Grandma Carol and Josh is now sleeping in a bed that was from Grandma Joan.  These are 3/4 beds from way back when.  They had to get special mattresses and the sheets we have don't really fit.  It is fun though to have a part of history from our ancestors.  Josh is actually sleeping in the bed that Jeff slept in when he was a boy.  That is just so cool we think.  Thanks to our Grandmas for sharing their beds with us!

We met our friends, Julie, Moses, and Sandria Boroff for bowling over the holidays.  It was great to see them.  Moses and Sandria are from the same children's home in the Philippines as Josh & Cate.  These 4 kids knew each other before coming to the US.  Mom Julie is great support for me and I really appreciate our friendship.  It was good to see the 3 of them.

One of the best parts of Christmas break was seeing so many family members.  Josh & Cate love to have their family all around them.  Don't we all.  "Family is Forever" we say!  One time Josh said "What's forever?"  Well that led to a big discussion for sure!

On Christmas eve we baked cookies for Santa and got those all set out and ready.  Daddy Jeff read the Christmas story from Luke in the bible. Josh & Cate got their bibles out to follow along.  It was a great moment and this momma loved it!.

Christmas day was a blast.  We opened gifts from Santa in the morning and then traded our own gifts.  Grandma Carol and Grandpa Bob came over to watch the fun.  Later we went to have lunch with Grandma Joan.  We just had a great day!  Our big kids were arriving on the weekend so it was just us for the day  We still managed to have fun and enjoy ourselves!

It snowed which was perfect timing for us.  Josh was a great help with the snow blower and it's just plain fun to play in the snow for these kiddos.  They loved being outside building a fort and sledding.  Thanks for reading the blog and always continue

Choosing joy,
Chris & crew
